Top Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best North Santiam river shuttle service?

North Santiam River Shuttles is a locally owned company providing insured and dependable vehicle shuttle service for anglers and floaters across the North Santiam River.

Who Needs a River Shuttle on the North Santiam?

Anyone planning a one-way drift boat, rafting, kayaking, or fishing trip on the North Santiam River benefits from a professional shuttle service. Whether you are floating a short section or running a full-day trip, having your vehicle waiting at the take-out makes the experience significantly easier and safer.

How far ahead should I book?

Booking in advance is strongly recommended — particularly for weekends, holidays, and prime fishing months. Routes often fill several days ahead of time. Same-day shuttle requests are limited and cannot be guaranteed, so reserving early ensures your preferred launch and take-out times.

How does your Service Work?

Our shuttle service is simple and convenient. You launch your boat or raft at your chosen starting point on the North Santiam River, and we pick up your vehicle and trailer from that location. While you’re enjoying your float, we drive your vehicle safely to your designated take-out point, so it’s waiting for you when you arrive. This allows you to float the river without the hassle of coordinating multiple vehicles or arranging rides back to the launch site.

How much does the shuttle service cost?

Our shuttle service is priced at $40.00 per vehicle for most locations on the North Santiam River. If you’re floating to Buena Vista, the cost is $65.00, which includes the ferry ride fee.

Popular launch points include: Packsaddle, Fisherman’s Bend, State Park, Mehama, Stayton, Hess Road, Greens Bridge, Jefferson Bridge, I-5 Ramp, and Buena Vista.

What are your operating hours?

Our shuttle service runs daily from sunrise to sunset, and we’re happy to accommodate early launches or late take-outs whenever possible. However, on weekdays, early take-out times (before 3:00 PM) can be more difficult to schedule due to limited availability—many of our shuttle drivers also work full-time jobs. We kindly ask that weekday take-out times be scheduled after 3:00 PM whenever possible. If you have special timing needs, just reach out—we’ll do our best to make it work for you!
